Explore Chicago's Cultural Mile

Steps away from everything... Worlds away from your everyday

A trip to the Windy City is not complete without a visit to the engaging attractions, museums, concert halls, theaters and public art along Chicago's famed Cultural Mile.

The Cultural Mile
Stretching from the Chicago River along Michigan Avenue thru the Museum Campus at the south end of Grant Park, the Cultural Mile is home to Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, Symphony Hall, (where the world-famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs), vibrant urban college campuses, and the magnificent Museum Campus with the Aquarium, Museums and Planetarium piquing your curiosity.

The Cultural Mile's historic street wall, sometimes called Chicago's Front Door, overlooks Chicago's magnificent lakefront and Millennium and Grant Parks, and is living history of innovative world leadership in architecture and design.

Since the early 1800's, visitors to Chicago have stayed at elegant hotels and private clubs along the famous Michigan Avenue corridor. These venerable establishments have hosted visiting dignitaries and heads of state — including Emperor Hirohito, our own U.S. Presidents, as well Queen Elizabeth II whose landing from her yacht at Buckingham Fountain became known as The Queen's Landing.
